At Sqills we empower passenger transport operators around the world with a mission-critical software solution called S3 Passenger, ensuring that they can purchase, rebook, or scan tickets to keep public transport running smoothly and reliably.

This is exactly why our Cloud team is so important to Sqills. The team ensures that the infrastructure supporting S3 Passenger can handle thousands of bookings per minute and continuously improves it for scalability and efficiency.

Supporting operations is an essential part of our daily activities. We collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to guarantee uptime, maintain security, and deliver reliable implementations within our infrastructure. But it doesn’t stop there; innovation is at the heart of the Cloud team.

What will you do?

As a key member of our infrastructure team, the cloud engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud solutions in AWS. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with talented colleagues, contribute to the growth of our cloud environment and be at the forefront of technological advancements.

The Cloud team has representation both in our headquarters in Enschede, as well as in Amersfoort. It is possible to work from both offices.

What are the key responsibilities?

  • Design, deploy, and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the most effective cloud solutions.

  • Implement and maintain security measures to protect cloud systems and data.

  • Optimize cloud services for performance, cost, and reliability.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure.

  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.

  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our cloud environment.

We are looking for someone with…

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a similar position.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Strong proficiency in AWS Cloud.

  • Solid understanding of security best practices.

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform.

  • Willingness to join our standby shifts.

Nice to have:

  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Programming experience in Python.

  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools
