At Sqills we empower passenger transport operators around the world with a mission-critical software solution called S3 Passenger, ensuring that they are enabled to purchase, rebook, or scan tickets to keep public transport running smoothly and reliably.
This is exactly why our Cloud team is so important to Sqills. This is the team that makes sure the necessary infrastructure is available to support S3 Passenger, to accommodate thousands of bookings per minute.
Because of this, supporting operations is an important part of our daily activities, where the team is collaborating with cross-functional teams to guarantee the best possible uptime and implementations within the infrastructure while maintaining security.
But it doesn’t stop there. Innovation is a key focus for the Cloud team, which continuously seeks ways to enhance the efficiency and scalability of our infrastructure.
As a key member of our infrastructure team, the cloud engineer plays a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud solutions in AWS. This role offers an opportunity to collaborate with talented colleagues, contribute to the growth of our cloud environment and be at the forefront of technological advancements.
The Cloud team is primarily working from our headquarters in Enschede, but there is also a possibility to work from our office in Amersfoort.
Design, deploy and manage scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure solutions;
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver the most effective cloud solutions;
Implement and maintain security measures to protect cloud systems and data;
Optimize cloud services for performance, cost, and reliability;
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cloud infrastructure;
Provide technical guidance and support to other team members;
Stay informed about industry trends and best practices to continuously improve our cloud environment.
Minimal 3 years of proven experience in a similar position;
Bachelor or master’s degree or related experience;
Strong proficiency in AWS cloud;
Solid understanding of security best practices;
Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform;
Willingness to join our standby shifts.
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes;
Programming in Python;
Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools;
