Generative AI Software Developer

Turn AI potential into reality — let’s build!

Full-time · Enschede

Are you excited about Generative AI and do you want to work on building AI-powered tools that help enhance the overall experience in transportation technology? At Sqills, we're looking for an experienced Python developer to contribute to innovative tools and features for our flagship product S3 Passenger. If you're passionate about using your Python skills (or any other language we use) in an evolving environment where we constantly experiment and adapt quickly, we'd love to hear from you!

Why this role is perfect for you

This is your chance to start using Generative AI in a practical, real-world setting, grow as a developer, and contribute to cutting-edge software. At Sqills, we’ll support you every step of the way as you:

  • Apply your Python experience on the job, while building exciting AI-powered tools.

  • Work on a mission-critical SaaS platform used by international customers for inventory, reservation, and ticketing.

  • Collaborate with a team of passionate developers who are happy to share their knowledge and help you grow.

  • Experiment with innovative technologies and shape the future of Generative AI in real-world applications.

What you'll be doing

As part of an Agile DevOps team, you’ll take ownership of your work and grow alongside talented peers. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing Generative AI-powered tools that enhance internal processes and uncover new possibilities for S3 Passenger. For example: improving our intelligent AI powered chat bot so users are able to find answers quickly based on our internal documentation.

  • Designing and implementing backend microservices in the AWS Cloud using AWS Bedrock with Anthropic Claude models to support high-performance and scalable systems.

  • Learning Python while applying it to meaningful, real-world projects. For example: using AI chat bots instead of complex wizards in our S3 Passenger product for configuration.

  • Collaborating to design secure, high-quality, and maintainable software.

  • Debugging and optimising systems using tools like New Relic, Sentry, and other monitoring platforms.

What makes us different

At Sqills, we focus on growth, quality, and collaboration. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Learn as you go: No prior AI experience? No problem. We’ll provide the tools and mentorship you need to succeed.

  • Tools and technologies: Start with what you know and expand your skill set to include other programming languages like Golang and AWS services like Lambda and DynamoDB.

  • Infrastructure excellence: Work with OpenTofu, Kubernetes, and AWS Cloud Development Kit to build Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions.

  • Hands-on experience with AI: Experiment with Generative AI and apply it to real-world challenges.

  • Supportive culture: A company that values growth, creativity, and knowledge sharing.

What you bring

We’re looking for people who are passionate, curious, and eager to learn. Ideally, you:

  • Are experienced in Python, Java, Kotlin or Golang.

  • Are interested in Generative AI and its real-world applications.

  • Have experience with LLMs, Amazon Bedrock or OpenAI (big plus!)

  • Have a curious mindset and a drive to learn and grow.

  • Bring problem-solving skills and enjoy working collaboratively with a team.

  • Communicate well in English and are excited to try new things.

  • Have a degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience (but passion counts too!).
