Performance Tester

We pay you to speed it up

Full-time · Enschede

We are actively looking for an enthusiastic colleague who is eager to learn and enjoys testing our software, infrastructure, and more.

What is the job about?

As a Performance Tester at Sqills you are responsible for the support and execution of performance testing for both development and implementation activities. Our application, S3 Passenger, runs on AWS/Kubernetes and you work with multiple tools to verify the performance at different stages of the manufacturing process.

You run load tests on every (daily!) release and perform stress-, soak- and volume tests during development and customer implementation projects. You work on extending the code of the performance test suite and execute it in close collaboration with developers, infra, and business consultants to make sure the full potential of our software is available.

The Sqills test team is ambitious and eager to work in progressive ways, using the latest tooling, languages, and processes.

What will you be doing?

  • You will be working in a team dedicated to the integration and performance of our suite alongside other software testers, infra-experts and developers;
  • You develop performance test in our primary tool: Gatling (Scala);
  • You make sure that developers know about any regression errors as quickly as possible. You do so by working closely with the development process when testing, always looking for opportunities to shorten the feedback loop;
  • You execute performance tests to support our release cycle, as well as support customer implementations with specific test scenarios;
  • You advise our DevOps teams on performance testing;
  • You document test results and report them to the team and other stakeholders;
  • You continuously investigate whether improvements can be made to working methods, processes, and tooling in order to improve the quality of performance of S3 Passenger.

About you

  • Bachelor’s level in both working and technical proficiency (e.g. HBO ICT, Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Technical Management);
  • Affinity with the technical side of software testing;
  • You have experience in performance testing or are eager to make this your primary focus;
  • Knowledge of testing techniques and test methods such as ISTQB or TMap is a plus;
  • Knowledge of performance test automation with, for example, Gatling, Jmeter, K6s, or Locust is a plus;
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies, preferably AWS/Kubernetes is a plus;
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Go, Java, Scala, Ruby, etc.) is a plus;
  • Knowledge of SQL database systems is a plus;
  • Knowledge of monitoring software like New Relic, Grafana, and AWS Insights is a plus;
  • You are interested in the latest developments in your field and enjoy learning.
