Movie nights, game nights, pub quizzes, Friday afternoon drinks, someone deciding to make waffles for no reason, these things happen regularly and none of them were dreamed up by marketing or P&O. They started because someone felt like organising something, and other people felt like showing up. As we've grown past 200 people, keeping that energy has taken more effort, but it's still there. Ask anyone who's been here more than a year. Oh and there is yoga at our headquarters, and padel, so much more.

We are not going to pretend that a ping pong table is what defines our culture. What actually matters is that many of the people at Sqills genuinely like spending time together.
Some of our events are structured. Some of them just happen. We try to make sure that we have fun together, and that is exactly why people show up.

The Sqills conference
Once a year, we bring the entire company together for a day of talks, ideas, and the kind of conversations that just do not happen over Slack. External speakers, internal speakers, and usually a theme that we try to take too far in the best possible way. It's part learning, part celebration, and the one day where everyone is guaranteed to be in the same building.

The annual staff trip
Every year during the summer, the whole company goes somewhere together for a few days. No workshops, no trust falls, just all the Sqills people away from Enschede, having a good time. We've rented castles, taken over entire hotels, and the formula is always the same: cool activities, great food, cold drinks, and a dance floor that gets more confident as the evening goes on. It's one of the things people genuinely look forward to every year.

The end-of-year party
Our way of closing out the year and thank everyone for all their effort. A proper celebration, not just a simple drinks reception with awkward speeches. An actual party where people stay because they want to, not because they feel they should. Also, an excuse to get dressed up if you feel like it.
