Moving you forward

When you work at Sqills, you can directly help shape how the world travels tomorrow.

We redefine the world of passenger transport. This requires teams who innovate continuously, take full ownership of their decisions, and work as partners to our operators. The future of mobility starts here.

The engine behind public transport

We build S3 Passenger, the mission-critical software that powers some of the world’s most complex transport networks. While it is technically a SaaS distribution system, it functions as the heart of the network for our operators. It handles millions of real-time inventory updates, high-concurrency reservations, and intricate ticketing logic.

From the high-speed tracks of Eurostar and SNCF to the vast networks of VIA Rail Canada, we ensure every passenger journey, from planning to arrival, runs seamlessly. We replace legacy systems with a unified, smart solution that makes life easier for 50+ operators and millions of their passengers every single day.

Our culture

Sqills occupies an almost unique space in the IT landscape. We are large enough to power the world’s most complex transit networks, yet small enough that an individual’s choices can help shape our product.

Sqills devops teams

Constantly open for innovation

We do not hide behind legacy processes. If there’s a better tool for our code or a more effective strategy for our operator, we use it. If a developer proves Go or Rust is superior for a specific module, or a consultant identifies a smarter way to align a client’s business logic, we act on it.

At Sqills, the person closest to the problem is usually the one with the best solution. That means decisions are often made by technical experts or consultants themselves, not escalated through layers of management.

Mission-critical responsibility

If our software fails, people are unable to book their ticket or board their bus. Simply put, people don’t get home and operators lose revenue.

We hire people who find that level of responsibility energising rather than intimidating.

Open and honest with each other

If we don't agree on something, we make sure that we discuss it together. Not only within Sqills, but also to our customers. Because if we expect honesty from each other, our customers should expect the same.

Our software is complex enough...

Working together should not be. We combine the global reach of Siemens with the operational speed of a specialist software company.

You get the long-term security of a global industry leader, but we still decide what stack we use or how to develop the product.

Our daily work remains agile, direct, and focused on solving the next complex issue, not on paperwork.

Benefits of working at Sqills

We won’t pretend a free laptop is a ‘perk’, so these are the things people actually mention when they talk about why they stay at Sqills.

How we work

Hybrid is standard here. As a team, you decide which office days make sense for collaboration. We value impact over time sheets and recognize that people have different peak productivity hours. Some people thrive early in the morning, others hit their stride later.

Beyond that, we care about your work getting done, not what time you start. Shift your hours a bit to fit your life, just keep it within reason and make sure your team knows where you are.

What we won't do

Waste your time with 6+ interviews

Judge you solely on personality tests

Keep you guessing about next steps

Ghost you after applying

What we will do

Tell you within a week where you stand

Communicate clear timelines at each step

Be honest about the pressure and responsibility

Discuss actual challenges from our operators
